Academic AppointmentAssistant Clinical Professor at Touro University Nevada BiographyDr. Leo Germin is a trained Hyperbaric Physician, Board Certified in Neurology, Vascular Neurology and Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Germin has unique and extensive experience after being trained at Center of Hyperbaric Medicine Moscow, USSR in 1985.He practiced at the Lithuanian Republic HBO and Poison Control Center from 1984-1989, using HBO treating over 5,000 patients with various indications over these years. Dr. Germin contributed his expertise with presentation of the lecture, "The Treatment of Acute Crash Injuries and Limb Transplantation's with Hyperbaric Oxygen" at the Sixth USSR Conference on Hyperbaric Oxygenation in 1986. In 1987 by the authority granted by the Government of the USSR, the State Committee of Discoveries and Inventions, Dr. Germin was granted a certificate authorship patent for the invention: 'Method for determining individual sensitivity to hyperoxic environment under conditions of hyperbaric oxygenation'. As the Medical Director of HIN, Dr. Germin uses his medical judgment offering the treatment of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to his patients in the cases that is a result of a reduction of tissue (specific) oxygenation and caused by tissue hypoxia. HIN renders this in addition to the conditions that are considered as UHMS approved indications. Each patient receives an initial HBO consultation and examination. BiographyJon has worked in Hyperbaric Medicine for over 10 years and Wound Care for 4 Years. He has logged over 15,000 hours of Patient Dives. Jon was first trained in 1997 at the Hyperbaric Facility at Naval Station Pearl Harbor, Hawaii by Lt Joe Dituri, head of Hyperbarics for Pearl Harbor and Hickam Air Base. Earning the Chamber Operator (CO) credential. First managing a free standing clinic in Las Vegas and in 2000 was certified as a Chamber Safety Officer. Jon became a Certified Hyperbaric Technologist in 2002 after completing the UHMS and NDBHT courses and testing. At this clinic he operated both Mono Place and Multi Place Chambers. In 2004 Jon managed the Hyperbaric Chamber at Summerlin Hospital Las Vegas and in that same year began his training in wound care. In 2006, Jon operated the Hyperbaric chamber out-patient clinic at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada while also completing the Hyperbaric and wound care training at Ohio State University. Jon is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and Dive Medical Technician. He has trained over 425 students in all levels of diving and teaches First Responder First Aid and AED. He also teaches Hyperbaric Chamber operator classes. |
